The seaside cliffs along the Ring of Kerry in Western Ireland really took my breath away. Being born and raised in the Florida Keys, I have always been comfortable with the ocean, but never with a landscape as awe inspiring and intense as this. So as my wife and I drove around the Kerry peninsula, we often stopped just to stare in wonder, completely awe struck, truly appreciating the powerful beauty of the timeless Irish coast.

Oh, and of course I always had my camera gear with me. πŸ™‚

Hardware: 15” 2011 Macbook Pro, Wacom Intuos5 Small Tablet

Software: Lightroom, Photoshop, NIK Color Efex Pro 4

Technique and Details: Digital Blending

First, using Adobe Photoshop, I blended the 3 exposure brackets using a few hand painted masks. Simply put, the land is exposure 0, the sky is -2, and the water is a blend of 0 and -1. After that, the details were enhanced slightly using NIK Color Efex Pro and the color correction was done using only Adjustment Layers.

Espresso: Lavazza Rossa (Just broke into my backup supply)
